2008 Award Winner Announced
The 2008 Community Award Committee was greatly impressed with the submission from the Treasure Coast Riding Club Chapter. The winning submission was an excellent example of a public service project as well as a project that benefits their Chapter members. The Colt Start Connection is an informative event for all levels and disciplines of horsemanship. This event demonstrated training techniques (ground and mounted) that Chapter members and the horse community at large, would use to further/strengthen their own equine partnership. In coordination with the event, this Chapter involved local businesses to assist with caring for our equines. Attendees not only benefitted from Colt Start, they were also able to make connections with those that provide equine services within their community.
The exposure and the funds donated to two rescue/adoption organizations (although not a necessity for submission) showed the "heart" of the Chapter members. Visibility, financial donations and gaining interest from prospective adopters is truly an admirable and much needed public service.
We, the Committee, being OPRC members, could not be more proud to be part of such a fabulous, wide reaching organization. Treasure Coast Riding Club is truly an inspirational Club.
Respectfully Submitted,
