OPRC NATIONAL 2008 YEAR END AWARDS

RULES & REGULATIONS

Year end awards for qualified members will be given out through 6th place.  Awards will consist of Championship Rosettes and prizes for Grand & Reserve.  Due to the size of our organization and the fact that it is nationwide, these awards shall be mailed out to your Club President’s so that individual clubs will be able to have their own Award’s Ceremony, whether at a club meeting or year end banquet/party.  This will enable our members to get the recognition they deserve for all their hard work. The 2008 Year End Awards shall also be posted on our OPRC National website.

Exhibitor must be a member in good standing for the current award year to be eligible to compete for year end awards.  All scores being submitted for year end awards must have been received prior to membership date (rider must be a member at the time score is obtained).

All entries must be accompanied by a copy of the “OPRC Awards Program Points Form 2008” in order to have points considered for year end awards.

All entries accompanied by copies of score sheets (front and back) must include horse & rider’s name, the date & location of show.  The name of the judge and judge’s signature must be on score sheets.

Members are allowed to compete in their division(s) of choice.  Once a member has achieved a Year End Grand Award at a Level in a Division (i.e. Eventing Starter, Novice, Training; Dressage Intro B, Training 2, Training 4), they are no longer eligible for a year end award at the same Level in that Division the following year. They must move up a Level to compete in the OPRC Awards program. Only those competitors at the highest level in their Division will be allowed to repeat a Division after winning a Grand Award.

Rider and Horse qualify as a combination and no substitute horse or rider will be allowed.  Scores will follow one combination throughout the award year. Rider’s can enter more than one combination of horse rider team, but scores will be counted as separate teams and NOT combined to follow the rider.

All entry forms must be received by the OPRC Year End Awards Committee by November 30, 2008.  Late entries will not be counted, so please get your forms in on time.

Dressage and Eventing scores for year end awards will be tallied on a percentage rating and placed accordingly. We are offering Year End Awards through Training Level in both of these Divisions.

English Classes (Hunter/Jumper/Equitation), Western Classes (Pleasure, Horsemanship, Games) will be awarded on a point system assigned to each placing (1st  Place = 7 Points, 2nd Place = 5 Points, 3rd Place = 4 Points, 4th Place = 3 Points, 5th Place = 2 Points, 6th Place = 1 Point.)

Good luck to everyone and hope you enjoy our 2008 AWARDS PROGRAM!!!!!
