About our chapter
Our local chapter is called For the Fun of It—a reminder of why we exist: to offer a safe, welcoming space where local riders can connect, try new activities, and simply have fun.
We typically host two events a month:
- Unmounted events (second weekend of the month, January–November) include a business meeting and an educational element. Past sessions have covered trailer safety, yoga for riders, riding in Slovenia, and DIY coat defense.
- Mounted events are open to those bringing their own (or borrowed) equine. We aim to create a safe, supportive environment for all skill levels. In-hand participation is often welcome. Activities have included Cavaletti, trail challenges, and cow work. Member favorites include our Holiday Survival Party, Annual Summer Camp, and Halloween Game Day.
We promote learning through our badge program
Each member receives a For the Fun of It Guidebook with a variety of activities—like hosting events, learning to check vitals, or performing trailer safety checks. Each completed task earns you a badge!
